The campaign management of candidate Hamadi Ould Sidi Mokhtar confirmed this afternoon, Sunday, his position in third place, having obtained 13.4% of the votes counted so far.
The candidate’s management clarified that these figures are fully consistent with those provided by the Independent Electoral Commission, which show the victory of candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani with 55.97% after counting 90% of the votes. Following him is candidate Biram Dah Abeid, who received 22.32% of the votes, while candidate Hamadi ranks third.
The process of counting the results is ongoing, and the Independent Electoral Commission has begun preparations to announce the provisional election results.
